Veronica Hankerson Madrigal is an education researcher and the sole proprietor of Madrigal Research LLC. After beginning her career at DC Public Schools as a teacher and district staff member, Veronica completed fellowships in community organizing and communications with Education Pioneers and Leadership for Educational Equity. Collectively, these experiences inspired her to apply her curiosity, analytic eye, and ability to translate complex ideas in writing towards research in support of equitable education policy. She has since gained experience through positions in the education division of a large research organization, at a midsize education policy consulting firm, as an independent contractor for the principal investigator of a federal research grant, and on the in-house research and evaluation team of a national arts education provider. She holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Arts in Teaching from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Yale University. She has also completed a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Hamline University.
